WR Dunn & Co was commissioned to obtain planning permission for a change of use from agricultural to Bed & Breakfast accommodation for this former farmhouse, located within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. In addition, we produced several schemes to enlarge the existing accommodation with the conversion of the attic space and a new sun room, with spectacular views over Grassholme Reservoir, as well as project managing the works on site.
We successfully developed a scheme that expanded beyond the client’s original brief and expectations. The project developed in stages through a series of smaller scale modifications, similar to the historic approach of many traditional farmhouses. This allowed the property to retain many vernacular features and significantly enhanced a previously dilapidated property.
