Following a condition survey by WR Dunn of the Grade II Listed Bothy, the Yorkshire Sculpture Park was awarded funding for the refurbishment of the building from Arts Council England. We were commissioned to prepare designs and specification for the repairs and alterations required to bring the building back into use.

Restoration work included renewing the roof, eliminating damp, renovating stonework, repairing internal timbers and carrying out minor internal alterations. New lighting, heating, ventilation systems and an environmentally friendly air source heat pump were introduced. Security and environmental control were also improved to meet the Arts Council’s requirements.
