Following a report and appraisal by the Church Commissioners for England, it was realised the need for a scheme that dealt with the strategic redevelopment of the Palace to optimise the use of all areas.
The work focused solely on the private family apartment, office space, improving accessibility and a general modernisation of the Grade I building, within strict conservation principles. We also concentrated on the building service infrastructure, with the undercroft level being raised to principal floor level to avoid flood risk.
This project demonstrates the exemplary abilities for team collaboration on large and complex schemes, with the team designing, managing and successfully completing the refurbishment and alteration works, on time and in budget.
