The focal element of the estate is the Grade I listed castle and its adjoining Grade II buildings, we were appointed to help bring these dis-repaired buildings back to their former glory and sustainable for future use. We initially focused on feasibility studies examining the strategic development of the historic core, this progressed to specific structural and financial proposals leading to realisation on site.
Following completion of phase 1 and 2, work commenced on phase 3, the restoration of The Coach House. As project managers for this phase, we worked closely with the English Heritage to agree a grant, plus it was our responsibility to oversee work schedules for all contractors involved, and ensuring all refurbishments kept the complex and sensitive historic integrity of each building.
